Our team here at the BAALS Music Festival had a lot of fun putting together this AUTOTUNE remix of a classic interview with Tommy Schrader who is a unique candidate running for in the city council primaries. We worked close with A Better Fort who will be doing more GET THE VOTE OUT initiatives between now and November. The BAALS Music Festival and A Better Fort Organizations are non-political, non-partisan, and do not support or endorse any political candidates. We have organized to support an initiative behind the lack in voter turnout amongst our young Fort Wayne Natives and to promote general voter turnout.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
A UNIQUE APPROACH TO ADDRESSING THE LOW VOTER TURNOUT IN FORT WAYNE
The millennials behind the BAALS Music Festival and A Better Fort downtown advocacy group have created a “Get The Vote Out” initiative in order to encourage young individuals to vote.
Fort Wayne, IN – May 4 2015: The city of Fort Wayne, Indiana is becoming increasingly known for it’s array of unique political characteristics. It began when the previous city mayor, Harry Baals received viral attention online due to his name. Now the city is turning their attention to Tommy Schrader, an elusive drifter turned repeat political candidate. Schrader has run for numerous offices, but most notably ran for an at-large seat on the Fort Wayne City Council. In 2011, Schrader won the democratic nomination until it was then discovered that he actually resided and voted in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Since Schrader did not follow the residency laws required to run for office, the Allen County Election Board ruled that he was an ineligible candidate. Despite his attempt to fight the decision in court, it was ruled that his paperwork was filed incorrectly and he lost the case. The name Tommy Schrader is re-emerging within Fort Wayne, but this time with a unique twist from young voters.
With the May primary approaching, Indiana’s voter turnout will be poor if history is any predictor of the future. A recent report stated that Indiana had the lowest voter turnout for the Midterm Election of 2014. In order to combat this problem, a group of young creative-minded individuals have worked up the “BAALS” to address the issue head-on through The BAALS Music Festival and A Better Fort Community Organization. The two organizations are combining good music and humorous rhetoric to attract young voters to the upcoming local elections. They recently leaked an autotuned remix and humorous music video to a popular interview from 2011 with the elusive free-spirited Tommy Schrader in which he detailed a day in his life. The BAALS Music Festival which was named after the Fort Wayne mayor Harry Baals, is now the largest annual electronic dance music festival in Indiana. It attracts more than 10,000 attendees to the downtown area. A Better Fort, the brainchild that helped spawn the downtown music festival is a downtown advocacy group created by millennials in 2011. Their primary focus is on community empowerment and the retention of young talent. Each year, the BAALS Music Festival donates $5000 to the Mad Anthony Children’s Hope House. On August 1, 2015 A Better Fort will be on-site at the festival with an array of GET THE VOTE OUT opportunities.
